Anyone else not feeling their Audi Q8?

Does anyone here not enjoy their Audi Q8? I regret getting this car, there are just so many little things that bug me. I can’t wait for the lease to be over. Would love to hear if anyone else feels the same.

What’s been going wrong with it? I’m kind of on the fence with mine. The look of it is amazing, no doubt about that. But I wish it drove with a bit more zip. I keep it in sport mode most of the time to make it feel more responsive. The sound system is really bad, though. Overall, it does turn heads. I’ve been thinking about getting that rooftop carrier too, for more storage on road trips.

@Chen
Yeah, the sound system is a letdown, my old VW had way better speakers. I also noticed it wanders a bit while driving. The push-button start is hit or miss… I have to press the brake and the button multiple times before it works. And it’s super slow to respond when I hit the gas. I’ve had the air ride system throw warning lights at me, and the infotainment system feels sluggish. Like you said, it looks great, but there are too many small annoyances for me.

@Fallon
That sucks, I haven’t had any electrical issues yet. I rented a 2022 model before buying and it seemed fine, so I got a 2023 and it’s been solid so far. I do get brake squeaks when reversing down a slope, but I’ve heard that’s common with these sport brakes on a lot of cars like Porsches. I usually fix it by braking hard after backing out to clear the dust. But yeah, that sound system is awful. I can’t stand listening to it.

@Chen
Good to hear you like yours! My wife likes it too, but it’s just not for me. I’ll be going with something else next time for sure. Maybe we both should’ve gone for the SQ8… the V8 might’ve made up for the bad sound system, lol.

@Fallon
I wanted an SQ8 but couldn’t find a used one at the time. The Q8 I got had all the options I was looking for, so I just went with it. Plus, gas prices were crazy high in California back then, so the better fuel economy won me over too.

If you’ve got a 2019 or 2020, that might explain some of the problems. Those are the first years of a new design and tech (like the dual screens). I always prefer to buy the updated models. My first Audi was a B8.5, then I got a B9.5.

@Cael
Thanks for the input! Mine’s a 2023, got it brand new.
