I would like to increase the sound of my A6 so that it sounds more like my Sony WH-1000XM4, with a nice warm sound. Is this just a “dream” that will never happen? Is there a way to improve the audio?
In comparison to my car’s B&O system, the Wh1000xm4 is rather mediocre. Aside from noise cancellation, I’m not sure why you think they’re superior. They’re adequate for office use, but the wearing comfort is lacking, especially as the ear cup becomes fairly heated over time.
The B&O subwoofer is much more powerful, high tones are present (since the automobile isn’t exactly like a closed-back earphone), and the surround is much better. However, they are different.
The question you should ask yourself is what you enjoy about the xm4 that you believe is missing from your car’s system.
The listening experience in a car versus with quality headphones might differ greatly, depending on how your audio system is adjusted. I do not have nice headphones, but I prefer to listen to music in my automobile.
Not much. For an audio setup with tweeters, a subwoofer, and component speakers, I believe my car audio delivers a much cleaner sound, which I prefer to listen to over my headphones.
Songs, in my opinion, will always sound better when played over headphones. I have an aftermarket 1000w amplifier and a 12" subwoofer for the car.
Understand the differences between an audio system, headphones, and earphones. None of them will ever sound the same; that is how sound works.
Your car’s audio system generates sound in a large room filled with surfaces that reflect sound differently, as well as objects such as seats that get in the way and absorb it. Headphones are put directly over your ears, so nothing gets in the way of the speaker and your ear, while also creating a little contained space around them. Ears are certainly more direct.
While headphones cannot be made to sound like a proper audio system, neither can your car.
Make sure whatever app/device you are playing music from in your car has high quality audio turned on.
