I wish audi just went with a proper angular sportback design instead of this fat bulbous heavy understeer look on their latest lineup

Because there is a battery underneath, the body must be fatter. However, the Tesla Model 3 hides it considerably better.

This indicates that either the designers didn’t do a good job hiding it (so you’re correct), or Audi’s battery is bigger than Tesla’s, making it more difficult to hide and appearing much thicker than it is.

… and it looked stunning as an idea. When comparing it to the actual model, what is missing? They appear to be the same, but not quite.

I couldn’t agree with you more; the new models are too generic now. I don’t even know why people buy them anymore.
