B5 is one of my favorite Audi generations. Such a classic and timeless car.
First car? I LOVE B5s! I’ve owned a couple, including an S4 Avant. Just a heads-up though, they’re not the easiest to work on and really need a lot of maintenance. Hope you’re ready for the commitment!
@Ode
Looks like they’re in Germany… They’ll have no trouble finding someone who knows these cars inside and out. Finding a good mechanic will be key for inspections and keeping up with repairs. Germans do have a different way of maintaining their cars! VW and Audi can be pretty reliable over there.
@Uma
Germany definitely has a different approach to car maintenance than the U.S., and since parts and labor are cheaper there, these cars turn out to be pretty reliable.
Welcome to the club! I’m in the same boat, and yeah, fixing things can get pricey for a first car. But for a first ride, it’s amazing.
Nice! First thing… get yourself a Bentley manual.
I had an Imola yellow B5 S4 back in the early 2000s. I still miss it.
Congrats! I’ve got a B5 and a B9. The B9 feels more luxurious, but there’s just something special about the B5.
B5 S4 is a great pick! Make sure to take good care of it.
Is that the biturbo V6 S4? Congrats, man! You’re in for some good times and a lot of learning.
Congrats! You deserve it. Enjoy the ride!
Congrats! Have fun with it!
Welcome to the family
Welcome to the Audi club.
My first car was a 2.8 B5, and now I have two more! An Imola S4 and a Santorin 2.8 B5.
Yes! That’s a great engine and car.
Very cool! Congrats! I just got my first B5 too!
Such a timeless design. I remember when they first hit the streets, I thought they looked great. The B5 has aged so well over the years.
Nice ride! Welcome to the club.
