Looking for my first Audi - 2019 A7 or a 2019 S5 Sportback

So I’m looking to purchase my first Audi, but I’m stuck between these two options. I know they’re very different classes of car, but they both have different things that draw me to them. I value sportiness, comfort, space, and style. Ideally, I’d want to get an S7, because the 7 is my preferred vehicle overall with the performance flare. Unfortunately, the used market for the current gen S7 is beyond what I’d want to spend if I still want to save some money in case I need to repair something. My budget here is about $30,000 USD. I should add that performance-wise, I don’t really care about the numbers. I don’t do track days, and I don’t hurtle the thing around corners. I drive on the highway a lot, so I’d like something with good acceleration (under 5 sec 0-60), sounds nice, and is overall entertaining to drive. I don’t need some incredible speed demon track monster. With the A7, I really love the style and the size. If I were to buy one, I’d tune it APR Stage 1 ASAP, plus probably change the exhaust and overall give it a more S look. Would Stage 1 on this car be enough to wake it up? The S5 is already more of what I’m looking for from the beginning. I’d still want to modify the style and tune it, but it would be less of a priority. The diamond quilted seats are amazing, which don’t seem to be available in an A7 at my price. I know this car will be quicker and handle better from stock. It is a little smaller than I’d prefer inside, plus the interior looks a bit dated IMO, but not a deal breaker. What do you guys think?

Honestly, if you’re looking for style and comfort, the A7 is hard to beat. Plus, tuning it would definitely add some fun!

That’s what I’m leaning towards! Just want to make sure the Stage 1 tune makes a noticeable difference.

If you want something quick and fun without too much modification, the S5 is a great choice. It’s already sporty and handles well right out of the box.

True, but I feel like I’d want to tweak the style a bit. The A7 just has that presence, you know?

For your budget, keep an eye on maintenance costs too. The A7 might look cooler, but factor in how much tuning and repairs could be.

Good point! I want to enjoy driving without breaking the bank on repairs.

Stage 1 on the A7 will definitely make it feel more alive. It’s worth it if you love the looks of the car.

Awesome! That’s the kind of feedback I needed to hear.

I get that the S5 is sporty, but the interior does feel a bit dated compared to the A7. If it matters to you, that’s something to think about.
