New Facelifted RS3 or a Used RS6 or other suggestions

Hey guys, I think the title is self-explanatory. I’ve got a ‘15 GTI that’s seen better days, and I’m in the market for a new car. I’ve always wanted an RS3 since the 8Y gen, but during those years, I couldn’t afford one. Now I can thankfully, but one reason I struggle with this choice is I’m 6’4 and sat in the current gen A3. Compared to my GTI, it felt more cramped, which surprised me since I thought the two were practically the same size. Considering I sometimes have more than one passenger with me, I’m wondering if I should just go after a used RS6. I’ve always driven small cars, so the size of the RS6 would take time to adjust to. But I know it would be more of an eye-grabber due to its size and presence. Still, that 5-cylinder sound makes me forget about the RS6, even though I love that car as well. I wanted to gather your opinions and see what makes sense. What do you love about the RS3 and RS6 versus things you dislike? Any problems you’ve come across or heard of over time? Should I just get a BMW? Thanks for your time in advance.

Personally, I’d choose the RS3.

The RS3 is just so fun to drive. It feels nimble and quick, plus that sound is incredible.

I would lean towards the RS6… it’s so much more of a car. Just keep in mind the repair costs are higher than the RS3.

Yeah, I heard the maintenance can be a pain. Are the features that much better?

@San
Definitely, more space and luxury features. Just depends on what you value more.

If you’re used to smaller cars, the RS6 might feel overwhelming at first, but it’s a beast once you get used to it.

True, but I think the RS3 is more practical for everyday driving.

@Valen
What do you mean by practical? Like fuel economy or size?

Mostly size and handling. It’s easier to park and maneuver around town.

Both are great options. It really comes down to your lifestyle and what you need from a car.

Like, if you travel a lot with friends, RS6 could be better for space?

For sure, but the RS3 is still fun for solo trips too. Just a different vibe.

I love the RS6, but if you’re not ready for that size, the RS3 might be the better bet.

Yeah, sometimes smaller is better. It’s all about what fits your needs.
