I’m super excited to share that I just became the proud owner of a 2019 A7 Prestige S-Line with black optics and the B&O 3D sound package after trading in my 2014 GT that I bought new! This is our second Audi, and honestly, I think this is the best all-around vehicle I’ve ever driven. Having sold cars back in the day, that says a lot.
So, when I popped the hood, I discovered it has an APR intake. I called APR, and they informed me it has a Stage 1 93 tune that was just installed in September, packing 401hp and 517tq! They said I have full rights to the tune files already purchased, so I just need a tuner if I want to change anything from the 93 tune. I went ahead and ordered the DIY tuner, but I have some questions for you all.
Are there any inherent durability issues with running this tune? Is it okay to use this pre-packaged flash tune, or is there any advantage to going for a custom tune?
Also, I’m getting a U101400 code indicating that the control module is incorrectly coded, along with another code related to the satellite radio. Do you think the U101400 code is likely due to the tune? I noticed that the auto stop/start feature is permanently disabled too.
Just a heads up, this vehicle was originally from Canada, and I used OBDeleven to disable the dual speedometer since it was reading in KM/H.
Congrats on the A7! That’s a serious upgrade. As for your questions, I think pre-packaged tunes are generally safe, but custom tunes can optimize performance even more. Just make sure to monitor your engine temps.
Awesome car, dude! The U101400 code could be from the tune, especially if the auto stop/start was disabled. You might want to check with APR or your tuner about that.

Good to know! I’ll reach out to them. Just trying to figure out if I should be worried.
I’ve run a similar tune on my A6 for a while now, and it’s been great. Just make sure your oil changes are regular, and you should be fine. A custom tune can give you a bit more power, but it depends on what you’re looking for.
Pretty sweet ride! As for the durability, just keep up with maintenance and you should be good. The U101400 code is probably just a software mismatch due to it being Canadian originally.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely keep up with maintenance.
That’s a beautiful car! I’d recommend getting a custom tune eventually, but the pre-packaged one should be fine to start. Just keep an eye out for any odd behavior.

Appreciate it! I’ll take your advice and see how it performs first.
