Problem with 5-day-old Audi Q5 PHEV... what should I do?

I recently got a 2024 Q5 PHEV, and it ran into multiple problems within 5 days of ownership and less than 100 miles. The wipers were shot (26 miles when I picked it up), the EV battery wasn’t charging, the check engine light came on, the plastic molding behind the driver seat was bent, and the rear suspension makes a thudding noise over bumps. The car is with the dealer now, and they promised to fix everything. But I’ve never encountered these issues in a new vehicle before. Is this normal for Audi, or did I just have bad luck? What would you do in this situation? I contacted Audi North America, and they told me to work it out with the dealer, offering to advocate for me if needed.

That’s what the warranty is for. If the dealer can’t fix the issues after multiple attempts, check your state’s lemon law.

Do you know if it’s multiple attempts for the same issue or total attempts for all problems? NY’s law states 4 attempts are needed, but I’m unclear about how it applies.

This is why you have a warranty. Don’t stress too much; they’ll fix it.

If you’re in a state that allows returns within a short period, consider initiating that process.

New Audis are cheaply made and expensive to buy. You might have gotten a lemon.

Break down the issues; some might be minor. New cars have lots of sensors and tech, so issues can happen.

Return it, get another at no extra cost. You’ll likely be in and out of the dealership for years with this one.

This sounds like bad QA from the factory. Insist on a swap; you may have more hidden issues.
