Only use the dealership for free/coupon work. All dealers are like this. Pick any brand.
Glad you went to another shop that told you the truth. That’s very disappointing.
Good on you for getting the second opinion. A lot of people just agree and get scammed by these crooks.
It’s not completely misguided, but you should always go to the independent shop. They shouldn’t need replacement parts until they start making noise.
That’s what the indie guy said - you’d hear it and feel it. Maybe wait about fifty or so thousand miles. I can totally do that.
Those rear suspension lower spring mounting plates have been a common failure point as those cars have aged.
Curious he didn’t respond to this one though lol.
Never trust a dealership. They quoted me $221 for an oil change.
This happens so often. I can only imagine how it is for a woman, as I’m a guy who still sometimes has to deal with it!
I have an A4 and took it to the Audi Service center for Audi specific issues. They gave me a laundry list of multiple things wrong with my car.
Now I realize how they furnish their waiting areas with furniture nicer than that in my house.
I’d recommend going to the euro shop for all your future service needs.
Dealerships are like pharmaceutical companies. Come in for an oil change, and they find 80 other things you need to keep your vehicle running right.
They do this to everyone. BMW tried this with me and said I wouldn’t pass safety without getting work done.
Name that stealership.
Good on you for going to a euro shop first!
In the current climate, techs are being squeezed tight. We’re told to throw the books at cars to try to turn hours.
Unfortunately, it’s everywhere. Before I retired, the focus changed to getting more work out of less people.
Normally you will hear noises when turning or going over bumps. I would speak to the service manager and have him show you the failed parts.
