I’m planning to buy a 2016 Audi A4 Allroad but the mileage on the car that I saw the listing of is concerning me. The car is at 125k miles and I’m wondering if it would be reasonable to buy it. Is it a reliable car?
I don’t understand why ANYONE would get a Q5 over this. Wait… one of those who I don’t understand is my wife.
I used to own the B8.5 Audi A4 Allroad (2016) and it was a very reliable car until about 80-90 thousand miles. By then I had to keep replacing a bunch of parts from the suspension, engine mounts, gaskets, and every time I went to the mechanic I had at least a thousand or two in the repair bill. Great car though.
@Luca
Thanks for the heads up! Sounds like it could be a bit of a money pit after a while.
Dang, I’m at the 88k mark and had to replace the rear shocks and both CV boots. And when I checked the timing chains via VCDS, they were pretty close to replacement time. Guess it’s new car time!

Yeah, timing chains can be tricky. It’s good you caught it in time. Better to be proactive than reactive.
I appreciate the insight. It seems like maintenance is key with these cars. Do you guys think it’s a good idea to get a warranty or service plan?

Definitely consider a warranty. It can save you a ton on unexpected repairs.
I’d say if you’re okay with the potential for repairs, go for it. Just make sure to have a trusted mechanic check it out before you buy.
