My wife and I are considering joining the Audi family! We’re looking at used 2018-2020 A4 Avant models, and in our price range (max 30k€ in Europe), we see either well-equipped cars with ‘high’ mileage (150k-200k km) or low-spec ones with less than 100k km. I’m leaning toward the higher specs despite the mileage, but my wife prefers the opposite.
My question:
What do you all think is the best approach when buying a used Audi?
Is the A4 Avant reliable even with high mileage, assuming maintenance has been done properly?

Which engine are you considering? In Europe, the TDI options are quite popular. Also, what’s the car’s intended use? Daily commute or leisure?
Probably a 35 TFSI or maybe TDI. It’s mainly for leisure, around 15k km/year, mostly on the highway.
What’s the maintenance history like? If the previous owner kept up with oil changes and other services, I wouldn’t worry too much about higher mileage.

If you’re looking at a 40 TDI, I recommend checking the quattro system. I had issues with it around 50k km. You can feel it when driving from a stop.
Thanks for the heads up! I’m not sure if the cars under 30k€ have the quattro system, though.

If you can find a well-maintained higher-spec model, it might be worth it even with higher mileage. Just make sure to do a thorough inspection.
