Hey folks… I own a B6 A4 Avant with a manual transmission. I bought it with coil overs, and since I live in the Midwest, snow can be a real hassle. A couple of days ago, my car wouldn’t move after stopping at a stop sign. I managed to push it out of traffic, and it drove again for a bit, but when I got to work, I had to push it into my parking spot. The car starts fine, but when I put it in any gear, the RPMs drop and it lurches slightly, but there’s no movement. It’s way too cold to crawl under the car right now, so should I be worried about a clutch or transmission issue, or is it more likely snow or ice caught somewhere causing the problem?
Clutch sounds messed up, dude.
What happens if you put it in gear and let the clutch out like you’re about to drive? Does it just rev without going anywhere? Could be a broken CV axle.
Yeah, if it’s just revving, that might confirm a clutch issue. But if it’s stuck in gear, it could be something else.
I had a similar issue once. It turned out to be ice jammed in the wheel wells. Might wanna check that first.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely check the wheel wells and see if I can get under it when it warms up a bit.
