My new RS6 with about 200 miles was experiencing vibration at 70-80 mph. I brought it to the dealer. They examined for excessive road force on the tires. They discovered that three of the tires were faulty and had to warranty them. After a week with the automobile and scarcely interacting with me. I went to pick up the automobile. Sure enough, they severely scratched one of the wheels. So I insisted they keep the car. To repair the wheel. I took the car on the highway yesterday, and it has the same vibration. Except this time, it is more noticeable. Besides, the 4th tire is bad. The only thing I can think of it being is a bent or defective whee from the factory. This merchant was terrible to work with. It’s a tremendous disappointment to acquire a car of this class and have problems from the start, especially when there is no priority from the dealer to repair the issue in a brand-new car or communicate with the customer.
Sounds like your dealer just sucks. Any others you can try within reasonable distance? If not, I’d start with that dealerships GM and make sure he’s aware of your experience so far. It’s not often you’ll find a general/sales manager who’s willing to lose a 6+ figure client, whereas the service manager will have far less skin in the game, if that makes sense. If that doesn’t get you anywhere, I’d be calling the dealer group owner, then finally Audi directly.
I contacted with the GM regarding the scuffed and damaged wheel. I wanted my car back as soon as possible after they scratched it. Considering the automobile had 150 miles on it at the time and they only owned it for a week. I informed him I wanted to swap the wheel from another car. After some back and forth, he agreed to give me the car back. When I arrived, I examined the wheel and discovered that the GM had lied to me about replacing it. The wheel balancing weights were not factory-supplied, but rather obtained from the dealer following the installation of fresh tires. In addition, the tire was tagged for the wheel repair guy. So I knew they were lying. The technician stood there and lied to me about it as well. Frustrated, I accepted the repair and left, hoping never to have to go back to that dealer again. I am considering taking the car to a very experienced high-performance shop technician. I know to look at it rather than the dealer. I have heard that the alternative dealer in my region is just as terrible. A couple of hundred dollars saved without the bother and the stress of dealing with a lousy dealer seems worthwhile. Unfortunately, this is what you get when you buy a $150,000 automobile. The dealer is the Audi of Fort Lauderdale. I do not recommend that anyone buy a car from there. This was a terrible experience.
Jesus The next best option, I believe, is to call Audi directly. That sounds dreadful.
Don’t you get 30 days to return the car? Return it and get another
Not in Florida unfortunately.
It sounds like a wheel balancing issue. I doubt your wheels are problematic from the factory, however merely replacing three tires out of four will cause some concerns based on the weight difference and tread depth discrepancies between the three and the one.
After just 150 miles? It is the same vibration that was present before the tire change.
Some tires are made badly and I’m sure they contacted sales and sales only approved three out of four tires because I’ve had this same issue with a Nissan that was under 5k miles and they complained about a vibration I balanced the wheels noticed the vibration was more noticeable kinda like your situation, ended up replacing all four tires and then test drove it and it went away I highly doubt Audi fucked any of the suspension components when your car was being built it’s usually a tire issue, but they’re sneaky as hell for not replacing all four tires, which frustrates me since now you paid six figures for a car and it doesn’t even make you happy, and the dealer is wrong.
I am taking it to a different dealer. I’m also going to call Audi Corp Tuesday.
Not that you want to drive that far, but Audi North Orlando provided an outstanding experience. My local Audi dealers in Jacksonville and Orange Park are barely tolerable. To be honest, they most likely drove that automobile before purchasing it and dogged it into a pothole. And, for the record, when I purchased my S8, both Audi FLL and Audi Miami tried to rape me on RS6 Avants sitting on their floor in specifications I didn’t want. F* them all…
I convinced them to sticker and buy rate. So the trade didn’t turn out that bad. I’ll give Audi Coral Springs a shot. At least they’re right close to the freeway, so the tech can drive fast.
Good luck–for real. My dad was in the tire business for decades. If you have vibration, it really is simple: flat spots in tires for sitting too long–just need to really drive it; improperly balanced tires; defective tires (if you have the continental 7s they are very new); bent wheels. There really is no other explanation on a new car…
