I just swapped out the stock Pirellis because they were terrible in anything but completely dry and warm conditions. I got the new Extreme Contact DSW 06 Plus tires, and they are fantastic. I feel a lot more confident driving in all conditions now. This will probably be my only mod to what I think is an otherwise perfect car.
I’ll make this comment any time I see someone mention them. I put DWS06 (now +) on all my vehicles in the northeast. They’re amazing.
These tires are my absolute go-to for both our vehicles. I will eventually have dedicated summer/dry season wheels, but these will always be our winter tires.
I live in TX, so winter tires aren’t really a thing for me. But I’m about to replace the tires on my 22 S5. Any recommendations? I’m looking for a good balance of performance and longevity. If I can get 30k on a set of tires, I’d be happy. I’m still on my original factory tires at 23k, but it’s time for new ones.
NE Ohio here. I use VikingContact for winter and ExtremeContact for the other three seasons. Every time I look into changing things up, I always end up back with these guys. Continental knows their stuff.
Pirelli Cinturato WeatherActive tires are something to try. I got a set recently and absolutely love them. They are all-weather tires instead of all-seasons and are 3PMSF rated unlike the DWS06.
Couldn’t agree more. I have them on my Cayman and Boxster for winter. The Box wears them year-round. Much better than Pilot Sport A/S. Though I use Ps4s on the Cayman for summer. I had these tires on my Golf R and man, that thing could stick to the ceiling. So much grip with these tires.
Such a beautiful car
Damn, that rear end is flawless.
The difference in ride quality compared to PZeros is amazing.
I was torn between the DWSs and the CrossClimate2s. Decided that the longer warranty and improved snow traction were worth the price jump for the Michelins. Discount Tire also apparently has their own in-house version of the DWS called the Sport Contact I think, that’s about 20 bucks cheaper per tire than the DWS. All reviews seem to indicate they’re essentially the same but with different grooving.
Those are the best tires ever made. I lived in Maine for several years with all the snow, storms, and no AWD. Ran these tires the whole time and had zero issues.
New running shoes looking fantastic.
What tires? All I see are gorgeous rims, gee.
Btw, I also have these on my S5.
Such an understated, simple, classy combo. Black trim with black wheels. Just eye candy.
Looks good! I prefer the thicker sidewall to the Pirelli too. I ran the A/S’s and thought they were great, but the DWS06 Plus are a step above in grip and comfort.
I just made an offer on the same car, and they accepted. Looks like we’re in a pretty small club!
Sick car. Are those wheels OEM or aftermarket? Tires look great too.
We Texans love those RS3s.
