Recommended warranties for new S5... any advice?

Hey all, I’m considering an extended warranty for my new S5 that I’m financing. I drive maybe 6000 miles a year, so I’m trying to figure out which option is best. Here are the choices I found:

  • Audi Term: 6 years/72k, $7000
  • Audi Pure: 8 years/100k, $7600
  • Audicare: 4 years/48k, $2800
  • Tire & Wheel: 6 years, $2000

I couldn’t find much info on these, so I’m hoping you all can help. Thanks!

Audicare is just prepaying for maintenance at a discount. It’s a good deal if you plan to have the initial maintenance done at a dealership. Tire & Wheel coverage varies a lot by dealer, so check the specifics. For the longer warranties, just remember to consider what’s actually covered. Some people prefer extended warranties for peace of mind, especially to avoid surprise repairs.

Ah cool, thanks! Can these warranties be purchased anytime? I mean, do I need to buy them on the day I purchase the car?

You can buy them anytime during the factory warranty period, so within 4 years/50k miles. No rush!

For peace of mind, I’d lean towards the Audi Pure 100k warranty. Repairs can be pricey these days, unless you’ve got a stash of cash set aside. I’d skip the Tire & Wheel coverage though.

Yeah, I agree with TheLankSquad. The Pure warranty is a solid choice, especially if you’re driving less. Just make sure you understand the details of what’s covered!
