To be honest, I kinda like it. I think this is what every manufacturer is going for right now.

Agreed. I mean, everything is becoming more digital. It’s not like it’s a surprise, right?
Apart from the steering wheel, everything in this car looks top-notch IMHO. Moreover, when we get used to watching it, it will get even better.

Had my touchscreen for years, still never feels good to use touchscreen during driving.
@Kirby
TBH the B9.5 touchscreen is really poorly executed, they just slapped it onto the B9 interior and called it a day. Hated it the whole time I had my B9.5. The double touchscreen setup on my e-tron (same as the C8 etc) is waaaaay better.
I suspect the vast majority of consumers now want screens. While I’d love to see them retain actual buttons, anyone thinking they are buying a modern vehicle today without some sort of big screen isn’t paying attention to the market. I’m not in love with the steering wheel, but I don’t hate it either. The rest looks fine to me. Certainly not enough for me to not buy the car.
@Payton
I do actually prefer screens and tech. Give me all the modern stuff, I love it. I feel like I’m in a minority when I come on forums and see the stereotypical “just give me old-fashioned plastic buttons” stuff.
@Max
I appreciate buttons and Audi has done them well over the years. I could do without certain key controllers being haptic buttons, like volume, AC controls, etc. But I agree - the amount of technology built into these cars guarantees that this is the way moving forward.
Overly complicated, really unnecessary. I just got my 2024 S5. I love every detail of my car. I love how elegant it is yet it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
The S5 2024 is the most stunning IMO from Audi. Including the SQ5 not Sportback, I’m a SUV guy. The new S5 interior feels too computerized. Apple CarPlay is enough for me, everything else is better with the haptic feedback buttons. I like the new S5 rear though, with the new light and Audi.
What’s wrong with it?

Even though they’re automatic I still want a stick, not a button.

Why does it matter? I think it’s cool on modern cars when automatic is via button rather than a useless stick that you are gonna touch 1 percent of the time you spend in the car.
As soon as you take one of the higher tech packages, you get the screen. At least in Germany, I didn’t see an option to deselect it.
Passenger screen was originally put in as an option for the Chinese market.

It’s an option for the Chinese market. There is a strong pushback on stuff like that in western markets while the Chinese market loves it.
It’s not a standard option, you can opt out of the passenger screen.
I don’t remember those times. When was it, like in the 80’s?
